I'm a self-taught surface pattern designer based in Navarra, in the green northern part of Spain. Trained as a biologist with a research background in primate behaviour - including fieldwork in Argentina, Madagascar, and Germany - I came to surface pattern design after returning to Spain and taking a sewing course.

My work is cheerful, fun, and bright, drawing directly on scientific knowledge of the natural world. I'm open to licensing and commissions.
Style and Aesthetic
My patterns are colourful and playful, with a strong nature and animal focus grounded in biological observation. My work spans illustrated fauna and flora, novelty prints, and geometric designs. My colors are usually vibrant and saturated but I also create colorways in softer, more subtle color palettes.
Techniques and Tools
Self-taught in surface pattern design, my patterns begin as hand-drawn illustrations on paper, which I then digitize and convert into vector artwork. Sometimes incorporating natural or textile textures to add depth, specially for wallpaper designs or to get a vintage feel. I usually work creating collections with coordinating designs in different colorways. My background as a sewist reflects close familiarity with how patterns translate to textile application.
Markets and Clients
I sell designs on POD sites like Spoonflower, Raspberry Creek Fabrics, Cloth Cuts or Loominate as fabric and wallpaper. I'm open to art licensing and commissions.
My designs work across a range of products, from babywear and children’s apparel to bold, colorful adult clothing, including swimwear. I also see them on textile accessories such as backpacks or bags and textiles and wallpaper for nurseries and children’s rooms. While my more neutral, understated or textural designs are well suited to modern and contemporary interiors.
Career Path
I discovered surface pattern design while taking a sewing course in 2018. I often struggled to find fabric prints I liked for sewing my own clothes, as the colorful and unique designs I was looking for were rarely available in the physical fabric stores I visited. This led me to learn on my own how to create seamless patterns to be able to have the prints I designed onto fabric.
Pattern Focus
As a biologist turned surface pattern designer, I draw inspiration from wildlife and the natural world. I research each species before illustrating them in my own fun approach, whether they’re animals or plants. I also love creating prints inspired by animal skins, especially those of marine animals, as well as conversational patterns.
