Kemi Jolaoso is a surface pattern designer and illustrator based in Florida, originally from Ibadan, Nigeria. She creates colourful, joyful patterns and illustrations for the giftware, home decor, stationery, and textile markets. After early corporate roles in retail buying, she trained in graphic design at Parsons School of Design and built a freelance career spanning in-house and licensed design work.

Kemi's work is characterised by bold colour and tropical warmth-drawn from a childhood surrounded by richly pigmented batik textiles in West Africa, and a later life along the US east coast and in Florida. The portfolio features vibrant all-over repeat structures with lush botanical and floral motifs. Colour is used generously and intentionally as a primary design driver.

Kemi works across illustration and surface pattern, developing designs from concept to production-ready artwork. Her background at Parsons and years of in-house and freelance practice give her fluency in print-ready file preparation and market adaptation across multiple product categories.

Kemi grew up creating art in Ibadan, Nigeria, absorbing the colours and patterns of local batik designers. After graduating from Boston College, she joined Bloomingdale's executive management training programme in New York, then transitioned into graphic design via Parsons School of Design. She worked in-house and freelance for national retail companies before developing a focused practice in surface pattern design.
